Dr Henny Tamboto
Dr Henny Tamboto received her medical degree from the University of New South Wales in 1995 and has worked extensively in the public hospital sector, particularly in the fields of general, breast and plastic surgery. She gained her Master of Surgery in 2004 for her research in developing a porcine model to demonstrate a causal link between subclinical breast implant infection and subsequent capsular contracture.
Her research was published in the leading specialty journal Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and she was awarded the John Ham Medal by the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and the Surgical Research Society of Australasia Travel Grant. Committed to providing optimal breast care, Henny has noted a deficiency in breast implant follow up post augmentation surgery. The Integrated Breast Implant Check Clinic aims to address this inadequacy by facilitating an uncomplicated access to lifetime assessment of women with breast implants. Henny believes breast implants, like other implantable devices should be checked regularly in order to identify problems early. She encourages women to be more aware of the potential adverse events associated with breast prostheses.
