    Associate Professor Niles is an accomplished Endocrine and Head and Neck Surgeon, specialising in thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal and salivary gland surgery. He is a full member on the international Association of Endocrine Surgeons. He performs over 400 endocrine procedures annually. Associate Professor Niles is the head of translational research in thyroid and head and neck cancer at the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research and Western Sydney University.Hehas a keen interest in teaching and is the supervisor of surgical training for the southern rotation for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.Having pioneered Robot assisted thyroid surgery in Australia; Associate Professor Niles is the most experienced surgeon in removal of the thyroid with no neck incision. He has set the benchmark in scar-less neck thyroid surgery.     Professor Lord is an upper gastrointestinal and general surgeon. His clinical interests are in laparoscopic bariatric (weight loss) surgery for obesity and obesity-related conditions; laparoscopic surgery for gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD) and hiatus hernia; the treatment of Barrett's oesophagus, oesophageal cancer and stomach cancer; laparoscopic cholecystectomy (removal of the gallbladder); and surgery for inguinal and other hernias. He is a Professor of Surgery at Macquarie University, Professor and Head of Surgery at Notre Dame School of Medicine, and Head of the Gastroesophageal Cancer Program at St Vincent's Centre for Applied Medical Research. His laboratory studies are on the biology of Barrett's oesophagus and oesophageal adenocarcinoma, and obesity. Professor Lord trained at St Vincent's Hospital and at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, where he was a member of the team that first performed the sleeve gastrectomy operation for obesity.     Dr Kelvin Kwok is a Specialist Colorectal Surgeon at Macquarie University Hospital, Gosford Private Hospital and Berkeley Vale Private Hospital. He completed training in General Surgery at Gosford, John Hunter and Concord Hospitals. He subsequently completed a Master of Surgery degree at University of Sydney and engaged in further training at Austin Hospital, Melbourne and Concord Hospital through the Post-Fellowship Training Program of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand.     Dr Andrew Gilmore is a colorectal surgeon at Macquarie University Hospital.. He has extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of benign and malignant colorectal disease. His special interests in colorectal surgery include complex redo laparoscopic surgery and strategies to enable laparoscopic techniques in the obese. He has the largest Australian experience with the technique of Natural Orifice Specimen Extraction (NOSE) where colectomy can be performed with only four 5mm incisions. He performs routine and complex therapeutic colonoscopy. He is committed to innovations in surgery that minimise morbidity and perioperative suffering.
