He has special expertise in hip arthroscopy for femoral-acetabular impingement syndrome as well as soft tissue damage to the hip.Dr Al Muderis received formal training in Europe on the anterior approach total hip replacement, which is gaining significant popularity worldwide. He also has special interest in ACL reconstruction using anatomy preserving technology and total knee replacement using computerised navigation technology. He completed his Ophthalmology training through Sydney Eye Hospital and a subsequent fellowship in Medical Retina with Professor Paul Mitchell. He has been involved in important clinical trials in medical retina, including upcoming therapies in diabetes and age-related macular degeneration. He has a passion for medicine in developing nations and remote areas. He has provided primary health care in remote regions of the Himalaya and ophthalmic care in East Timor and the Northern Territory, particularly Arnhem Land. Marko enjoys teaching and is a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney Medical School. He has been involved in the teaching of medical students as well as trainee eye surgeons in his role as Professorial Senior at Sydney Eye Hospital and later, Medical Retina Fellow at Westmead.

- Hide Biography + Read BiographyDr Christos Apostolou is a specialist surgeon in the fields of upper gastrointestinal, liver, biliary and pancreatic surgery.Having completed his MBCHB at the University of Cape Town in 1996, he undertook surgical training qualifying as a General Surgeon in South Africa in 2003 and continued fellowships in tertiary trauma and HPB/foregut surgery, resulting in the Certificate of Surgical Gastroenterology. He submitted his dissertation on Pseudocysts of the Pancreas towards a Masters of Medicine in Surgery from the University of Cape Town in 2006. He was subsequently appointed as a Visiting Consultant and Honorary Lecturer in Hepatobiliary Surgery, and established a successful private practice in Cape Town. He underwent additional training as a fellow in Upper GI Surgery in the busy South Western Sydney Area Health Service (2011-12), culminating in admission to the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons(FRACS). Dr Apostolou currently holds appointments at Macquarie University Hospital and Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital. He has particular interests in diseases of the biliary tree and gallbladder, oesophageal reflux, hepatic surgery, upper gastrointestinal/HPB oncology and interventional endoscopy. He has a keen interest in both undergraduate and post graduate teaching.

He then undertook a two-year Urologic oncology fellowship at the University of Miami, US, and is a fellow of the Society of Urologic Oncology.
