Neurosurgery at Macquarie University Hospital is one of our signature specialties. Boasting one of the largest cohorts of academic neurosurgeons in the country, you will be working alongside experts who are dedicated to not only perfecting their clinical and neurosurgical skills, but also educating future neurosurgical health care professionals.
As well as valuing education, this academic institution undertakes leading breakthrough research in the area of neurosurgery. With subspecialty interests in vascular neurosurgery, complex spine surgery, tumours, and syringomyelia and Chiari malformation, you will be exposed to the gamut of complex neurosurgery.
Holding regular multidisciplinary meetings where teams discuss cases and consider possible alternatives, our staff are encouraged to participate making informed decision for patients in a collaborative way.

As the successful candidate, you will possess:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse in New South Wales
- Sound theatre knowledge with a minimum 1 year experience as a theatre scrub/scout nurse in a neurosurgical/spine discipline
- Demonstrated ability to thinking critically and use initiative
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to establish sound relationships with peers and clients using a customer service focus
- Proven ability to prioritise and multitask in a fast paced environment
- High level of computer literacy
