Professor Boyages is a cancer specialist with 30 years experience in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. He is the Associate Dean International and Engagement at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. He was the founding director of the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute and has published more than 135 research and clinical articles, remaiing committed to the dissemination of research findings to lay and professional audiences.

Professor Boyages is a radiation oncologist and author of Breast Cancer: Taking Control, written for patients and their families, as well as of Clinical Breast Examination: Taking Control, written for health professionals.

Professor Gerald Fogarty is a radiation oncologist with an interest in skin and prostate cancer. He trained at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Australia’s largest cancer centre and has a PhD in the “Advances in the Radiotherapy treatment of Skin Cancer”. He is a senior radiation oncologist with Melanoma Institute of Australia the largest melanoma centre in the world and the Skin and Cancer Foundation. He is the chief investigator of an International Phase III Trial with over $2 million in funding in the radiotherapy of melanoma and a principal investigator of other trials conducted by the Australian and New Zealand Melanoma Trials Group  and Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group. He is the Director of the Mater Sydney Radiotherapy Centre, the original Genesis Cancer Care NSW site, and is on staff at the St Vincent’s and Macquarie University Hospitals, Sydney. He also is currently the Master of Warrane College, UNSW and Patron of Solidarity!  A student group that protects the rights of health care students and workers in regards to life issues, especially termination of pregnancy.

Dr Gzell is a Radiation Oncologist with particular interest and expertise in Head and Neck and Neuro-Oncology. Dr Gzell completed undergraduate degrees in both Medical Science (University of Sydney, 1998) and Medicine (University of Newcastle, 2003). She undertook Radiation Oncology Specialist training primarily at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (2006-2011) prior to becoming a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (Faculty of Radiation Oncology) in 2011. She has since undertaken a post-graduate fellowship in Neuro-Oncology at Royal North Shore Hospital (2012-2014) with research in the field of high-grade gliomas. This research is the foundation for a PhD thesis entitled: optimising outcomes in high-grade glioma (expected completion 2015). Dr Gzell is involved in the Co-operative Trials Group for Neuro-Oncology (COGNO) and the Australian Genomics and Clinical Outcomes of Glioma Network (AGOG), and is a full member of the Society of Neuro-Oncology (SNO, USA). In 2014 she joined Genesis Cancer Care as a general Radiation Oncologist with a particular interest in Neuro-Oncology.

Dr Michael Izard ADM (MBBS, FRANZCR, M. Medical Humanities) graduated from The Middlesex Hospital in London and obtained his Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists in Sydney. Dr Izard is the lead Radiation Oncologist for the Gamma Knife Program at Macquarie University Hospital. He is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Sydney, and other than neuro-oncology his interests include prostate and breast cancers, with a particular interest in brachytherapy.

Dr Marita Morgia completed her undergraduate medical degree at Sydney University in 1999 and undertook specialist radiation oncology training at the Wollongong Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospital before completing a clinical research fellowship at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, Canada. Her research and subspecialty training was in breast and gynaecological malignancies. She returned in 2011 to join the Northern Cancer Centre at Royal North Shore Hospital as a staff specialist and provides a radiation oncology service that has a friendly and caring approach to patient care with a holistic focus.
Dr Morgia has an interest in the management of breast, gynaecological, and haematological malignancies. She has been instrumental in developing protocols within her institution, including pelvic intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), image guided brachytherapy, breast IMRT and a modified deep inspirational breath-hold technique in breast radiotherapy to spare the heart. She is actively involved in research as well as clinical trial recruitment in these areas and has published in both national and international peer-reviewed journals. She is part of the clinical trials unit at Royal North Shore Hospital which supports both intra- and inter-institutional research studies, providing patients with the best access to state of the art care. She is a member of Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group (TROG), the Australasian Society for Breast Disease (ASBD), Australia and New Zealand Breast Cancer Trials Group (ANZBCTCG), and is on the executive for the RANZCR breast special interest group BIG-FRO.
