Associate Professor Bokor is an orthopaedic surgeon with a subspecialty interest in shoulder and elbow surgery. He graduated from Monash University in Melbourne with honours and completed his orthopaedic training in Sydney through the Australian Orthopaedic Association training program.

Following this, he completed fellowships in sports medicine/knee surgery in Sydney and then spent time at the University of Western Ontario, Canada, as a fellow training in shoulder surgery. He has a Master of Higher Education (Medical) from Macquarie University.

Associate Professor Bokor is a founding member of the Shoulder and Elbow Society of Australia and a member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons Society, as well as of the Australian Orthopaedic Association, the Australian Medical Association and Sports Medicine Australia. In addition, he is a sub-editor for the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. He is also currently Associate Professor and Chair of Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Macquarie University and Macquarie University Hospital Orthopaedics.

Dr Al Muderis is an orthopaedic surgeon and a clinical lecturer at Macquarie University and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Macquarie University, specialising in hip, knee and trauma surgery for the adult and paediatric population. He has special expertise in hip arthroscopy for femoral-acetabular impingement syndrome as well as soft tissue damage to the hip.

Dr Al Muderis received formal training in Europe on the anterior approach total hip replacement, which is gaining significant popularity worldwide. He also has special interest in ACL reconstruction using anatomy preserving technology and total knee replacement using computerised navigation technology. Dr Al Muderis is one of a handful of surgeons worldwide who has special expertise in trans-femoral and trans-humeral amputations, providing patients with robotic artificial limbs using trans-cutaneous osseointegrated technology.

Dr Coffey is an Orthopaedic Surgeon and Clinical Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Macquarie University. He has a particular interest in primary and revision hip and knee replacement as well as lower limb reconstruction and sports injuries. Dr Coffey has been in specialist orthopaedic practice since 1997. He has held senior clinical administrative roles as department head and AOA State Chairman. He continues to be actively involved in student and registrar training. He is a regular invited guest lecturer at instructional courses in joint replacement held within Australia and internationally.

Dr Coffey is a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Dr Gursel is an orthopaedic surgeon with interests in hip and knee surgery, arthroscopic surgery, joint replacement and revision surgery. He is a former member of the Hip Advisory Committee, and a current member of Standards Australia, the Arthroplasty Society of Australia and the Hip Arthroscopy Society.

Dr Gursel graduated from the University of New South Wales with honours in 1992 and spent his junior years at Concord Repatriation Hospital. He commenced his AOA accredited orthopaedic training with the Sydney Northside Scheme and obtained his Orthopaedic Fellowship (FRACS) in 2001. This was followed by arthroplasty fellowships in the UK and Australia. Associate Professor Haber is a specialist orthopaedic surgeon focused on advanced shoulder arthroscopy techniques. He is one of the leading arthroscopic shoulder specialists in Australia. Since 2000, Associate Professor Haber has performed more than 2,000 shoulder arthroscopies and pioneered a modified technique for arthroscopic rotator cuff repair. The technique is now widely used in Europe, England and in the US.

His ongoing research includes rigorous post-operative evaluations, looking at ways to optimise rehabilitation. He has presented at more than major international orthopaedic conferences in both Australia and abroad, winning best paper awards and international recognition. He teaches advanced arthroscopic shoulder techniques to surgeons in Australia, Asia and Europe, and frequently welcomes domestic and international visitors to his operating theatres.

Dr Andrew Higgs is an orthopaedic surgeon, specialising in foot and ankle surgery, trauma and sports injury surgery. His specialist interest is in sports injuries, deformity correction such as bunion correction and minimally invasive surgical techniques, treating both recreational athletes as well as sports professionals. Dr Higgs completed his medical training at the University of Sydney and received his specialist qualifications in orthopaedic surgery from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Following this he travelled to Europe, working alongside the most respected foot and ankle surgeons in France, Austria and the United Kingdom.

Dr Higgs is a clinical lecturer at the University of NSW and Macquarie University as well as a Senior Lecturer in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Notre Dame. He also instructs for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons on both the Surgical Skills Course and the Early Management of Severe Trauma Course. Dr Higgs was recently awarded a Masters of Science from the University of Dundee, Scotland for his research in achilles tendon ruptures. This research led to Dr Higgs pioneering a minimally invasive achilles tendon repair technique and accelerated rehabilitation program. Dr Higgs is widely published and is regularly invited to speak at both international and national meetings. He is also a surgeon in the Australian Defence Force and has recently returned from his second operational deployment as a combat orthopaedic surgeon. In this role he has been called on to treat some of the most devastating limb injuries for US, UK, Dutch and Australian forces.

Dr Brian Hsu is a highly respected orthopaedic surgeon serving the New South Wales area. Patients come from around Australia nationally seeking his expertise in treating all areas of the spine. Dr Hsu is an expert on the medical and surgical management of diseases and disorders of the spine, in particular, adult and paediatric spine deformity, complex cervical reconstructions, spinal osteotomies and degenerative cervical and lumbar conditions. Dr Brian Hsu commenced practice as a specialist spine surgeon in 2008.

training, he spent 18 months in the USA completing further specialised training in all facets of Spine surgery. During his fellowship he worked and trained at two world-renowned institutions, UCSF, San Francisco, CA and Twin Cities Spine Center Minneapolis, MN.

Dr Hsu has immense interest in education and research and is an active participant in global spinal organisations, such as the Scoliosis Research Society in which he is a candidate member. He has given numerous presentations at both national and international meetings and is published in the journal Spine, an international journal for the study of the spine and has written several book chapters.
