Dr Jeff Chang is a gastroenterologist who graduated from the University of New South Wales and completed his physician training at Concord hospital. He pursued further training as clinical/research IBD Fellow at the Western General Hospital Edinburgh, UK before returning to Australia. He is currently completing a PhD in examining intestinal permeability via confocal endomicroscopy in inflammatory bowel disease having been previously awarded a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) scholarship for his work. He currently holds staff specialist appointments at Nepean Hospital and Concord Hospital.

Juliana Chen is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Accredited Practising Nutritionist. She completed her Bachelor of Advanced Science and Masters of Nutrition and Dietetics at The University of Sydney. Juliana is also currently undertaking her Doctor of Philosophy in Nutrition and Dietetics at the Charles Perkins Centre, The University of Sydney. As an emerging leader in her field, Juliana’s research interests are focussed on how dietetic services and patient care can be enhanced through harnessing mobile health technologies, such as health apps.

Juliana is a member of the Dietitians Association of Australia, member of the Wireless Wellbeing and Personalised Health node in the Charles Perkins Centre and member of the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) for mHealth ‘UN-WIRED’. Juliana is passionate about using food as medicine to promote population and individual health and wellbeing across the whole lifecycle. She has worked in public health, community nutrition and health promotion roles, particularly to address childhood overweight and obesity.

She is committed to helping her patients achieve their health goals, using the latest rigorous research to deliver the highest quality nutrition care for weight loss, diabetes, cardiovasculardisease, hypertension, high cholesterol, IBS and during and after cancer treatment, to name a few.

Dr Robert Cheng is a procedural gastroenterologist and hepatologist. He holds a staff specialist appointment at Concord Hospital and is currently undertaking his doctoral thesis (PhD) on novel genomic biomarkers for liver cancer at Centenary Institute, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney. Dr Cheng studied medicine at the University of New South Wales; afterwards he trained as a physician and gastroenterologist in Sydney at leading tertiary institutions including Royal Prince Alfred, Royal North Shore and Concord Hospitals, as well as at major regional centres including Wollongong and Gosford Hospitals. After becoming a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Dr Cheng undertook one year of liver transplantation fellowship at the Australian National Liver Transplant Unit. He was subsequently awarded a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) scholarship to pursue a postgraduate Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in liver injury and liver cancer through the University of Sydney and Centenary Institute. He has publications in various Gastroenterology and Hepatology journals. His interest areas include liver cancer screening and management, bowel cancer screening, viral hepatitis and liver transplantation.

Dr Deborah Cheung is a specialist oncoplastic breast surgeon operating at the Macquarie University Hospital. She is also a visiting specialist at Breast Screen NSW and at the NSW Breast Cancer Institute, as well as being the head of breast surgery at Nepean Hospital. After obtaining her FRACS in 2001, she further advanced her skills in breast surgery,  mentored by world renowned surgeons over the years. She has pioneered techniques in breast reconstruction and oncoplastic surgery and has presented at international and national breast cancer symposiums.  She has long term experience in nipple sparing mastectomies and oncoplastic breast surgery integrating these seamlessly in the treatment of breast cancer. She is involved in research and teaching at University of Sydney and in Macquarie University.

Dr Andrew Cheung (BSc (Med) MBBS (Hons 1) FRANZCR) is an Australian fellowship trained interventional neuroradiologist. He was raised in Sydney, and is fluent in English and Cantonese. He graduated from medicine with first class honours at the University of New South Wales and has undertaken sub-specialty fellowship training at Royal Perth Hospital and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, WA. Joseph Chiha received his medical degree with Honours from the University of Sydney in 2003. He then completed his internal medicine and adult cardiology training through the Westmead Hospital Network. Dr Chiha was admitted to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2009.

Following his PhD, he undertook a 2 year fellowship in complex interventional cardiology at the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre in Toronto, Canada, in association with the Toronto General Hospital. This is a world leader in the diagnosis and management of coronary artery disease. He returned in 2016 bringing his experience and motivation to MQ Health. His clinical interests include integrating diagnostic and therapeutic cardiology and invasive coronary procedures including angiography and stenting. Dr Joseph Chiha is a general cardiologist with sub-specialty training and accreditation in interventional cardiology.


His training experience includes all areas of cardiology:

- ischaemic heart disease/ coronary artery disease

- arrhythmia

- heart failure

- pre-operative assessment


Dr Chiha also has experience in aged care and the renal complications of coronary disease, especially contrast nephropathy and coronary interventions. He is a consultant cardiologist for Douglass Hanly Moir Cardiac Services, responsible for the interpretation and reporting of 24 hour ambulatory blood pressure monitors, electrocardiograms and holter monitors. He believes a consultative approach to cardiology and thorough communication with each member of the medical team responsible for his patients is paramount to excellent care.
