Dr Wiseman is a female specialist gastroenterologist who has private rooms in Eastwood. She performs procedures at Macquarie University Hospital where she charges no gap for patients who have medical insurance. She also works with the liver clinic team at Concord Hospital to provide specialist liver care and is a Clinical Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Macquarie University. For more complex patients, she collaborates closely with other specialists from Macquarie University Hospital and Concord Hospital.
Dr Wiseman undertook her medical training at the University of Sydney and she graduated with Honours. She attained fellowship to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2008 and since then, has established herself working in the Ryde-Concord-Macquarie areas. Prior to studying medicine, she undertook a Bachelor degree in Medical Science and, after completing a thesis investigating the role of glycaemic index in the development of diabetes, she graduated with Honours. She has continued to have an interest in research, having published in local and international medical journals in the areas of liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease and cancer. She has also participated in medical trials treating patients with liver diseases.
Dr Wiseman knows the importance of listening to her patient’s problems and she offers practical advice and management of common gastrointestinal complaints such as constipation, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, bleeding from the bowel, jaundice, reflux and bloating. She has an interest in treating patients with liver disease, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease and those requiring bowel cancer screening.
